There was a discussion on changing / replacing the rear mud guard in the welcome forum of TM: click I think, it is easier to find in this thread. So I would ask, if someone on the continent (Germany) found a shop to buy those mudguards, know the dimensions in mm and has experience in installing them with photos? Thanks a lot

I bought a standard 5 sided 15" plastic trailer mudguard from Indespension in Leeds, cost about £12.
First I removed the aluminium deflector from the swing arm and used this as a template for the mounting holes and width.
I then pared back one side of the mudguard to clear the drive belt and drilled 2 holes to mount using the original bolts.
At the rear, I made up some aluminium brackets, one per side that screws to the ash frame and supports the back.
The mudguard is quite close to the tyre but has never rubbed even when on a bumpy road 2 up.
At the front the mudguard sits slightly below the swing arm and at the back almost level with the bottom of the body.
The exact location was a bit of trial and error though.
Result is no water or muck being thrown about under the boot liner.
Well worth the 2-3 hours effort and 12 quid.

I have done pretty much the same only I used a Horsebox Trailer mudguard part number TTL.J01SE from www.truckandtrailerproducts.com . I kept the aluminium deflector and bolted the forward end of the mudguard to it at the level of the top side of the swing arm. All fairly straight forward and only a small amount of trimming to clear the drive belt.

Hi Waldemar
you get the perfect fender at "Stahlgruber" Art.Nr. 268 9393 . It is an "Anhänger Hinterradkotflügel 22cm breit und 75cm Spannweite"
At the front I connected the fender with one bolt with the original fender (this way the plastic fender reaches further down in the back). I used bended steel poles for fixing the rear part of the fender. They are connected to the suspension bolts. I didn´t mount them on the wood frame since the wheel shaft is bouncing and the frame is stiff.
If you need pictures in the different mounting stage I can sent it to you. And for further questions just contact me by PN.
When I find more time I ´ll put the images on the forum. (couldn´t figured it out how it works)
P.S. I live in Würzburg

Hi Ralf-o,
thank you for the great advice! Is it possible for you to post the pictures here? I think it might be interesting for every 3W Driver (except Florida and California :-)

P.S. I live in Würzburg I too bought one of these mudguards, but I have not gotten around to installing it yet. I am also interested in photos to see how others have gone about it. If you have questions or issues getting photos to display on the forums, I have made a guide for this. If you have any further questions or issues, feel free to PM me and I will try and help as best as I can! Thanks for the interest.
Give me a couple of days to post it, cause the steel poles are just painted and dry out. Then I have to assemble it again, but I´m quite busy at the moment.
But as soon as I got it I´ll post it. Pomise!
Thanks for the "how-get-the-photos-online-link". I´ll do it this way as soon as possible.
Unfortunately I got the M3W since 2weeks in my garage and I cannot drive it because of the missing COC Papers. The registration office in my hometown insist of the original COC Papers, even every information is online available and I got an addtitional TÜV Certification. I love german bureaucracy - NOT I´m yearning so badly to drive my M3W...

Hi Ralf, my brackets at the back articulate to accommodate the slight movement.

Some "before" and "after" photos of my rear mudguard installation. Forward edge bolted through the aluminium deflector (left in place) and the rear edge with a bracket onto the wooden frame. I know that the rear end is fixed and the forward moves with the suspension but it doesn't move much and the plastic mudguard is more than flexi enough the cope with it. No problems yet but its only done a few miles. I will let you know if it causes problems.
