I agree. A Morgan is for life - not just Christmas. I hope to keep mine for good.

I have the Librands Exhaust - although its a Roadster, not a 4/4, but the sound is great (loud enough to wake the dead) and I think I can feel the extra oomph.

I have the chassis cross member covers, but mine are the Morgan bling ones. The drivers one has dulled down quite a lot due to my foot scraping over it and scratching it.

I am interested where the Cat is placed. I have a system where the Cat (200 CPI) is right after the 4/2/1 and sits direct under the sump and have no problems with emission tests. I was advised that this is better as the Cat stays hotter.

My car is about to become a touch quieter! I've been running a Librands sports silencer with their manifold and 400 cell cat and its just too noisy at medium to full throttle openings. Great fun when in the mood and on a track but tedious on a long trip. I had a bespoke silence made up by a racing friend which helped a touch but have just spent the morning at Longlife Exhausts in Worcester having them cast their eye over it. They do quite a few Morgan replacement silencers so are fairly use to the cars. They are making me up a new silencer roughly the same dimensions as the standard one but with a larger bore and less restrictive. The problem was getting the 800mm length so they are fitting two 370mm silencers back to back, TIG welded together...something they've done before for Morgans. Looking at examples of their workmanship in the workshop I am pretty impressed with them, so hopefully it will all work!

Jay, I would be very interested to learn if this is effective, and if possible see pics of the installation, as it is exactly the sort of thing I am looking to do too.

Cheers

I have to say that the Morgan Aero Racing Plus 4 system with the 400 cell cat is still a very pleasant sound but now much more acceptable than it was with the 200 cell cat. I miss the raw sound of the 200 cell cat but I think I run less risk of being pulled up with the 400 cell.

Mind you it is not a problem in Italy, its when I cross the border into Switzerland that I was starting to worry. drive cop nono

I suspect that the bigger the engine, the nicer the sound! I don't find the Sigma that pleasant although the throttle bodies do have a nice snarl when the revs build up! I'd rather hear more of that than what comes out the tailpipe!
