Hi all, does anyone out there have a Rover T16 +4 and is able to describe the ignition key or better still able to photograph it for me. I have a friend who is storing above morgan and he has lost the keys. The owner is in the states and not been to the car for 4 years and he would like to move it. I would particularly like to know if it has an immobiliser on it and a key with a transponder. It has the LED in the middle of the dash but even with a charged battery this is not flashing. If it had one originally I suspect it has been disabled. I've bypassed the original switch and have got it to fire up once and before I explore much more I thought I would check out similar year +4's first. Thanks John

Hi John, my 97 +4 has a standard Key , the imobiliser is activated by a separate push button like that for an automated garage door

Normally yes. But they do occasionally have a mind of their own. I once couldn't get Tinkerbelle to start when at a PI in W. Sussex. engine truned over fine, but no fire. Before I flattened the battery, I switched the immobiliser on for 1 minute, then off again. Result, instant start up. So it is possible the immobiliser is causing you problems JP (nearly typed 'Eric' ).

Thanks Graham, It's firing up every turn of the key so wondering if it's the MAF sensor now. Enjoy the trip.
