It's been just over 1 year and 1600 miles since I took delivery of my M3W and as I reflect on that time the experience has been overwhelmingly positive.

I bought it on an impulse after seeing it at the Geneva show, primarily as a more everyday usable, reliable alternative to my 1933 MG J2. It has fulfilled that brief very well and means that I was able to pamper the MG to a level befitting its age.

The performance, dynamics, noise, looks and sheer entertainment continue to put a smile on my face every time I drive it. I'm fortunate enough to work in the motor industry and have access to an array of very high powered and sophisticated modern performance cars, but sometimes you can't beat the low speed thrills that come with the 3 wheeler experience.

Sure, I've had my problems - throttle pedal breaking (a build error) and terrible steering kickback were both fixed by the factory and the driveline backlash has become more annoying - on the fix it list for next service. The driving position (I'm 6ft 4") was fixed very effectively with a 50mm steering wheel spacer.

The only other issue I have is that v-twin noise can spook horses. As I live in an area with lots of horse riders I've had to resort to stopping the engine or avoiding many of the local roadways as there is something about the v-twin noise that horses just don't like..

I recently sold the MG ( thought it was a lifer but had an offer I couldn't refuse) but have first refusal on another - this time a 1936 supercharged 2 seat special which is competing a Rebuild....will be interesting to see how I feel about the 3 wheeler if I go for the new toy as it too will have aero screens and 80hp at the rear wheels.....maybe I'll trade it in for a sensible 4/4 Sport!

Overall I'm glad I went for it and would definitely recommend the M3W experience, if only to see the smiles and goodwill that it fosters in other people. cheers

Always great to read about ownership experience and yours sounds wonderful. The M3W is on my bucket list however, under current rules as pointed out by swmbo, I can only have 1 at a time. How unfair is that.

Not sure if this is a taboo subject but... when you guys add these things to your list to be checked during servicing... do you expect to be invoiced for them? It sounds like what is(n't) covered by warranty is a bit negotiable?

Noticed that my garage drip tray (unfolded cardboard box) is showing a lot of wet marks, and on inspection the underneath of the engine has oil (very slowly) dripping off it. I assume "they all do that"..? one to add to the first service list.

No dripping here. I did the last two oil changes and the engine is clean and dry. The drain plug is an easy one to cinch down but the oil filter is problematic. It is hard to get in there with a filter wrench to properly tighten.

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

I haven't been charged for checking/adjustment items, also no drips from mine in 4000 miles .

No, I don't think they all do leak oil. My first one had a small but regular drip from one of the oil feed pipes, so check all the jubilee clips, I think that is the most likely culprit.
