I have a 2009 4/4 sport . Last week when driving home two warning lights started to glow but not fully on. The warning lights were for the handbrake/ brake fluid and seat belt. When I apply the handbrake the relevant light is full glow. As the seat belt light has never come on and, to my knowledge, there are no seat belt connections for it to be functional I am confused. The brake fluid level is on max. Any suggestions on what could be the problem ?

On my 4/4 Sport the warning lamps glowed dimly if the electrical connector on the brake fluid resevoir got soaked

Thanks for the suggestion. Checked the electrical connector , looked dry, but still gave it a clean. Unfortunately the lights are still glowing dimly.

sorry I've almost exhausted my knowledge of vehicle wiring, other than checking earth conections or signs of frayed insulation

This morning I ventured under the dash and had a closer look at the warning light cluster which, on the 4/4 sport, is a printed circuit with leds. Immediately I saw that the wire ribbon connections to the board were scuffed - rubbing against the dashboard. I cleaned them with a cotton bud and, success, no more glimmering lights. Before reattching the board I stuck some electricians tape over the connections to provide some cushioning. Just a warning, beware that the printed circuit connections will rub on the dash.
