Apologies if this has been covered previously, I am getting a loud noise whenever I go over a bump on the road. I have concluded that it is from one of the side screens (the other one is fine). It seems that the two perspex pieces are knocking against one another, as holding them apart seems to prevent the noise. Have others experienced the same problem and has anyone tried somehow wedging something between the perspex pieces. I was wondering if a rubber grommet could somehow be attached to one piece. Any ideas?

Seen a good few mogs with a rubber wedge between the plastic window's . Looked like a tiny version of what you would keep a door open with . Why do you want them on, it starts out hood and side screen on after a while its no hood then a bit later its no side screens . I find it restricts my arm movement. I like my car like my arm chair just that I like to rest my arm.

I agree, but it is a compromise as my wife will only travel with hood down if side screens are on, something to do with hair I believe.

No answer to that . Not brave enough.

Some folk only have the sidescreen on on the distaff side

I get a clack when the car hits a bump from two parts of the supports of the Easyup hood hitting each other just behind the driver's door when the hood is down. It only happens on the driver's side because the supports are set slightly differently on the passenger side. The solution is to put the hood cover on. I really don't think it is possible for the parts of the sidescreen windows to touch, the perspex would be too rigid for that. Do you have a neoprene strip on the windscreen pillars where the sidescreens touch?

I have experienced the sliding perspex windows rattling in the frames and have cured the problem with a couple of white window wedges bought from a DIY store. Although they are "wedged in" at the bottom of the overlap they are noticable.

I'm wondering whether anyone has found a source of clear soft plastic wedges which could be used and be less visually noticable.

I will continue to use that white ones as the "cure" is far better that the annoying rattle.

My other half wears chic little hats from Suburban Turban, they are brilliant at keeping long hair under control, although they were originally developed for women suffering from hair loss.

MrsW can take her hat off, and refix her hair with clips, then refit the hat at 70mph on the motorway. She's a hairdresser.
She can also sleep soundly at the same speed with the roof down.

I found that a very thin piece of plastic (I use black plastic from the various supermarket trays for sliced ham etc. perfect. ) cut thin strip and place between the aluminium frame and the rubber gutter that the windows slide in was enough to stop the rattle and effectively invisible. Be careful not to overdo it as they will be difficult to slide of course.
