my plus 8 is now 7 months old and has just lost its first bit of blue enamel. My view is that the enamel is applied as a thin coat directly onto a highly polished chrome surface which cannot be good practice. The enamelled area should be grit blasted first to ensure adhesion. I plan to get mine changed under warranty.

I took my badge off the cowl removed the black paint with a cotton bud etc cleaned it all down and used my sign writers brushes changed it to the same paint the car is sprayed ( red ). Its been on for years and blends in gets waxed with the car .

I removed the spare wheel last night spotted rubber marks on the sprayed large metal plate thats under it used the hard wax for a shine but it did not remove the tyre marks . I changed dusters and used the autolym liquid shock horror . I could hear it scratching the surface like a sander ( give it a try over the top of the wax paste you will never use it again ) . No wonder so many cars have surface scratches in the paint . The engine compartment it complete as is the body paint .

Today I bought Humbrol color 15 (glossy midnight blue) and with a small brush I restored the missing areas. It was done in a few minutes and the new color matches the old color so you can't tell where the new paint is done. I regret I did not do this the first time the badges lost paint. I also managed to restore the badge on the back of the car (4/4 Sport without spare wheel).

Having owned a Morgan for 45 years, I have never had a problem with the Morgan Wings until that is this month when I purchased a new Plus 8. After driving it home I noticed that some of the enamel had fallen out of the new type, modern shape Wings Badge. There appears to be a problem with the new Wings Badge which needs addressing by Morgan soon. The cars fantastic though.
On another matter, does anyone know if Bonnet Stays are being made yet for the new Plus 8. 🏁

John Worrell or Melvyn Rutter will be able to advise re the bonnet stays; I know MR made a set up for an AreoMax recently, so I am sure can help.

As to the badges I don't think that you are alone frown

John Worrall doesn’t know if the Bonnet Stay designed for the old +8 will do the job on the new +8 and I can't remember what it looked like or its dimensions on my old one. I haven’t contacted Melvyn yet, maybe at Canterbury when I can see a prop again in the flesh and maybe consider if it can be modified to fit.
Birthday coming up next week so will drop a few hint to the son and heir.
