Sorry to hear that , we seem to be having very similar experiences ,at similar mileages ! At least its an easy thing to replace ...
Incidently I now have no more squeaking from the belt now new rear pulley has been fitted (belt not changed)
Hope its sorted soon

What brand of regulator was it, an S&S supplied Cycle Electrics CE-601 or the Harley-Davidson 74540-01 or something completely different?

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

Great! This particular problem seems to be fairly rampant and the solution 'seems' to be working.

Just wonder if MMC will pick it up...

I read a voltage of 14.5 Volts in the speedometer when driving my new Threewheeler. Is it the same with you?

My car recently seemed to be experiencing all the symptoms that have been described in this thread. So it had to be trailered to the dealer. It turned out this time to be a chaffed wire causing the problem. The delivery driver said he didn't know specifically where, but the mechanic knew exactly where to look since it was the second one he seen with this problem. They have notified Morgan of this issue. Runs perfect again.
