Not wishing to pay 150 quid for an official bag I thought I would ask my local car trimmer to make me one from some vinyl that I have already. My question sounds a bit daft but do you store the screens as a mirror of each other (Perspex to Perspex) where due to the curvature they stick out or opposite to each other (Perspex to Perspex)where they take up less depth? From the only picture I can find it would seem the former. I would be very grateful for some advice as I need to define the actual shape of the bag.

Mine are stored as a mirror to one another....that way the bag closely follows the outline of a side screen.
Ps. With a foam sheet between the two to stop rubbing.

Thanks very much for the advice Jay. The foam sheet is an excellent idea.

Mine is a home made one with the foam sheet in between the screens, the type available in art shops for mounting. Works well.

I admire the skills you blokes have! I got the bag from MMC as part of the deal with the mohair hood. It stores the screens 'mirror' style with a foamed partition. It's a tight fit but fits nicely under the luggage rack and looks very smart I think. Still wish I has the skill to do these things myself though.
Looks like nice day for a drive without the screens. Hope you all enjoy.
All the best. Andy.

The only thing is that the embroidered logo is at the wrong angle Comes in handy for extra storage for that "essential" the shopping, but then the side screens have to go back on the car.

It is not too hard to learn to sew these materials. Best start with one of those black Singer machines and a bit of playing around with some scraps. That is how i started. The last thing i made was a full hood, sidescreens, wheel cover and running board battery cover for my 1928 Rolls-Royce tourer. Then a half hood for my Caterham Roadsport. I find it very rewarding doing upholstery work as it can be so nice when finished. You just need lots of practice and good eyes

I am gobsmacked ( to use a most inelegant modern expression). My respect for your skill, and choice of cars, is unlimited.
Have a lovely weekend. Andy
