Not having looked at the cars, the general principle is a road car bush should be compliant - ie no free play, but able to move/be deformed by road shocks. Pulling on it by hand should produce no movement. A race car though will have firmer bushes, even metal joints to give sharper responses at the expense of ride quality.

I've never heard of a correctly assembled road car wearing out the suspension bushes before a high mileage is attained and I've not yet heard of any five speeders in this bracket yet.

My guess is a batch of sub-standard parts, but 'shrugs shoulders' who knows? Do tell when you've found out!

Both sides are doing clearly it now. Thanks for looking Calum and Oppo! Let me know how it turns out for you, ok?

Now pretty sure the "klacking" noise comes from the wishbones. I gather it is caused by the wishbone snapping back into position.

I have also discovered that the rubber bushes holding the regulator/rectifier are disintegrating. One of the three is completely worn through. This is at 2450 km.

Still enjoying the car, though. Someone trying to drive and take pictures at the same time almost lost it beside me today.

Trying to reach my dealer.

Been out for a run about this morning, the clacking noise from the front right is still there but the obvious free movement on the wishbone is not (even swinging on it after removing the wheel there was no real movement)

My car is 4 weeks old and has only 500 miles on the clock. The nearside top wishbone mount had about 2mm of in and out movement - no wonder I also had the 'clack' on big bumps and some hairy changs of direction when I least expected it. Tightened the top front bush bolt and movement seems to have stopped. Reckon all that V-Twin vibe is undoing things on the quiet.....

Thanks for the very useful check warning folks!

Very true...my first round of "metallic clacking noise" was a few months ago and was the nut under the lower wishbone that holds the mudguard bracket on had worked loose; so a very easy fix.
I'm going to have another hunt for the source of the current right front clack tomorrow.
On another note I now have Blockley tyres on the front end. Have done about 100 miles and so far so good.

They are a popular tyre with 2 speeders and even raced. 130mph speed rated too.
