Just interested in what mileage people took their cars in for the first service.

Mine will go in on Friday. I don't think I've really done enough miles, but I want all the other niggly things to be looked at, especially the steering - I bumped up a curb when parking a while ago (very gently but still!) and the steering wheel isn't straight any more, so I think I bent something frown

I understand the running in period for the engine is really counted in hours rather than distance, but I was aiming for 1000 miles (1600 km) for the service.

On Sunday I was still only at 1300 km so went out and did a couple of boring motorway drives, 30 mins in one direction and then turned around and came back, just to get some distance (I've noticed that the handbrake gets very hot to the touch when doing these kind of drives). Now at 1500km, so should be 1600 by Friday.

Going to ask the dealer to check the regulator bushes while it's in, they seem very worn.

Hopefully they might wash it for me too :-)

Can't wait for the service to be done, oil changed, and full revs available! wink

The key is a top class service mechanic who gets everything right, whilst spotting mistakes made by others!

Worth travelling for peace of mind.

Good luck,

I hope this isn't considered "too much" of a hijack.

Mine is approaching service time - I bought from Williams but live near Manchester. Any reasonably local recommendations? The nearest dealer is new but I know of them from TVR days.

Assuming I have to use an "official" dealer to keep my warranty, I don't have much choice - there is only one in the whole of Belgium as far as I know... Anyway, surely all Morgan dealers are top class? wink

S&S recommend an oil change at 500 miles and another at 1000 miles. After that it is every 2500 miles. First full service at 1000 miles per MMC.

At the 1000 mile service, the dealership checks belt and tire alignment and ware, fluid levels, make sure all major bolts are still tight and they run an engine diagnostic on the computer to make sure that all is well up front.
