Just had my reminder to renew tax disc, interestingly no mention of CO2 which I thought decided the amount payable . It classes it as private/light goods which I thought only applied to pre 2001 vehicles, anyone know anything about this ? The rate is £225 pa.

Cars and light goods vehicles registered before 1 March 2001 The rate of vehicle tax is based on engine size for cars and light goods vehicles registered before 1 March 2001. Private/light goods (TC11) Engine size (cc) 12 months rate 6 months rate Not over 1549 £140.00 £77.00 Over 1549 £225.00 £123.75 This is the only £225 rate so they think your car is pre 01/03/2001 https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-tables

Hmm , that's rather puzzling , is this another example of bureaucratic confusion over 3 wheelers ?

Looking at the tables in Dave's link, £78 only applies to tricycles of less than 450kg . It seems it should be determined by CO2 emissions.

Just as an aside fellow M3Wheelers. I display my disc in an "Oxford" stainless holder with a gasket (They make stuff for bikers) that uses one of the passenger side allen bolts to secure to the dashboard. I am not sure of the legality as if parked up with tonneau on will those lovely folk who warden the traffic get a bit upset? Is it the law to display a disc?

Don't think it's anything to do with traffic wardens...
