My 1980 Plus 8 is undergoing a little cosmetic surgery!
I'm keen to change those dreadful anodised bumpers and give them a nice chrome finish. However, the plating folk tell me it can't be done
Polishing is not very effective
Any ideas from the forum brains trust?

Yes it can be done only 2 firms in GB can do it . They line the bumper with 3mm of chrome before they dip it it will cost you near on £1000.00 YES you are reading it correct . I sent mine away Feb last year told a 6 weeks wait by mid year they gave me any excuse the Cockney chap started to use foul language at me . He was told to return them FOC . ASAP. . THEY DID . Better to purchased s/steel and have them polished .

Two off the wall suggestions from me.
Paint & lacquer - done professionally.
Have them wrapped in chrome effect plastic. A good wrapper will do a great job and although not quite as shiny as real chrome will look better than anodised.

Oh I forgot to say that his father gave me one price in Feb and by the time it reached later in the year his price had gone up .
