Hi everybody, still loving my new Plus 8 but I appear to have a problem with rear window being marked in two distinct spots when the hood is folded down. The car is fitted with Morgan's new Luggage/Side Screens Rack and the trouble seems to stem from the rack brackets which hook over and are bolted to the back panel inside the cars interior. The folded hood rubs on this fitting. Its just had its first service so the Dealer is aware. Has anyone else experienced this problem. (I much preferred my old type hood which came off and could be folded up in a sheet and didn't have a mark in all its 19 years of use.)

I've a 2012 plus 8 with a luggage rack that fits as you describe. I have not had a problem, 3,000 miles mostly with the hood down. The brackets and bolts are well recessed but I can see you might if you stuff things tightly behind the seats. I'd get some stick backed foam tape from the dealer.

And I'd add that this is the most spectacularly wonderful sports car I've ever had, and that includes trad morgans and most other sports cards from cheap to luxury over the last 35 years. It just begs to be driven. Plonkers who prefer Porsches are welcome to them.

Try Hindsight , have not myself yet but thinking of doing so as mine has a few marks, I have in the past polished marks out using Autoglym car polish but have to work hard and long at it. If you buy some let us know how you get on.

cheers

I glued some slightly oversized leather pieces onto the brackets - worked a treat.

There's a far cheaper way of polishing rear screens and sidescreens - Brasso!

I couldn't get on with Brasso, although it worked well enough on the silver plated heirlooms at home. smirk2

Which are no longer silver plated...

A Dremel or similar is the easy way to do polishing jobs as you can get mops for them. I've even attacked glass with jewellers rouge with mine.
