Had a day off today, apart from washing and waxing. I added some sound proofing material to the rear of the seats to reduce a really annoying flapping noise at the low speeds. It's now more of a flip than a flap

That'll probably help stop water and debris getting through as well , I taped over or siliconed the gaps which largely cured the problem .
I wonder what is causing the flapping noise ? It's not something I've heard with mine.

Just wondering,can you/is it faster to remove the bevel box this way,or you have to remove it from underneath the m3w?

I did try to cover the gaps. Checked everywhere for the noise nothing loose can only presume its a cable flapping, tapping on something. A lot quieter now.

I think Blake took his whole car apart and Dynamatted every possible surface! (There's a post on LED light conversion where he dynamatted the inside of the headlight pods!)

All kidding aside - this sounds like a really good idea...I suspect doing the inside of the boot and forward compartment with further elimate all the rattles...

Ditto. Was a very worth while endeavor. still haven't gotten a chance to post the write up but i'll tease with these two pics that shows some, but not all, of my dynamatting madness.

Makes me wonder* how much better a honeycomb or foam sandwich CF or Kevlar panels would be (and with weight savings to boot).


*If one has the skills. But the shape of the panels (and even the fuel tanks) aren't really complex. Although not cheap, one could buy already made sandwich or honeycomb panels, cut them to size, epoxy the perimeter and then install.
