Bolt or welded refers to the connection of the "toothed male-part" which is connected with your steering rod.
The "mother-part" is what you mount with the three screws on your wheel.
You can also use the 6hole lifeline hub since the "toothing" is the same (that is what lifeline told me).
So you could use a couple more wheels options.

Therefore if you buy a spare hub you can go for the welded, which is the cheaper version, cause you only need the "mother-part".

Sorry about my lack of technical english, but I hope you get the picture.

Thanks, Ralf, but if welded, that still means I can't easily swap it for another model as the "mother part" attached to the steering wheel will have to fit. Trying to get hold of a black or stainless Lifeline motherpart seems impossible unless I'm willing to buy quite a lot of them (i.e. make a limited run). With a brand like Sabelt, or even better, NRG, not only do I have a choice of colour, but I also have a choice as to what it will look like (i.e. various models have differently shaped flanges.

What bugs me is that golden colour. It looks like some cheap iPod Mini from five to seven years ago. But then again, if push comes to shove, I can have it partly painted or something.

With a bigger boss in centre of wheel you will struggle to see it at all, especially the new Brooklands type.

I'm getting a 350mm Sabelt wheel in Alcantara. But it's not a matter of almost hiding the ugly colour, it's a matter of not having it at all. It's also a way of having it as I would prefer it. I will also try out more modern (rear) MC tyres for the front wheels. And, I'm a bit embarrassed to say, I'm considering buying CNC'ed fluid reservoirs instead of the standard plastic ones. I know, it's just under the "bonnet, but the cnc stuff isn't that expensive, and it would make them match the oil tank in looks.

It's all about our individual tastes which means many cars will be that little bit individual. Alcantara is nice.

I have ordered a Brooklands steering wheel with leather trim (Be nice to see the rev counter for a change as I am placing it at 12 O'clock) and have a few slight differences on my car but the quick release I like as a safety feature. Mind you it could be driven away if stolen with a pair of Mole Grips!

Wow AQM where will you source the fluid reservoirs?

The fluid reservoirs I will source from a customs' bike shop (I have my eye on several different ones) when I know exactly how much fluid they should contain. You can do the cheap version and only get cnc'd alu caps for the most common fluid reservoirs used on motorcycles and cars.
