House sitting for some friends this week , decided to nip out for fish and chips before sorting out horses and dogs. Car started fine, drove couple of miles to chippy which was shut ...Oh well kebab place next door, chatted to a photographer in there who asked if he could use it in a shoot !
Went out to car, usual selection of youths hanging around, got in, pressed starter turned over fine but wouldn't start. .... after some time a couple came along, got chatting they had a large selection of V twin vehicles , including a triking, a Hesketh and a Harley with an S&S engine. After taking out rear tray concluded fuel pump probably not working.
This story is getting a bit long! Anyway Morgan rescue were called and arrived after about an hour , took me and car back to my house about 18 miles away (my other car was there)
Finally got back to friends house 3 hours after leaving !
Some very hungry horses and dogs were pleased to see me.
Will see what Krazy Horse can discover next week.

Will see what Krazy Horse can discover next week. Please check out the Voltage gauge and see what it says with ignition on and on battery only. If it is below 11 volts nothing will happen. Fuel pump does not matter. There has to be enough power to control the EFI circuitry and if that does not happen you have a dead car! Then check out the regulator/rectifier threads.
What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

Thanks for that suggestion Michael , I have had a replacement regulator fitted and it has been charging fine. Will check when I get a chance to go home .

Replacement regulator is still doing its job as gauge is showing 12.7V. Problem must lie elsewhere.....

Will probably have to take it to a dealer and have them plug it into the diagnostic computer. Modern engines are so computerized for emission standards that taking a screwdriver and wrench approach is almost self defeating. sigh
What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

Just had a call from George at Krazy Horse to say car is now fixed, it was a problem with the inertia switch . So will be back on the road this afternoon

Mine is fitted low and just behind the oil tank on the right. Not the best position to find. I wonder if it can be moved to somewhere more accesable? Inside the car on the bulkhead maybe, so it can be reached from the drivers seat?
In fairness though, I have never needed to reset one of these, but there is always a first time!

I had this problem with a TVR on one occasion, it was fitted in the passenger side behind and below the dash. It was mentioned in the handbook and had a reset switch. I think they are to shut everything down in the case of a crash.
2022 Plus Four, 2023 Super Three, Range Rover Vogue SDV8 and Triking T3.
