I know there has been mention on this subject already but it must be inside another thread as I could not find it.
The good news is that Powerflex have shown an interest in helping us. Their Sales Manager has said he will see what he can do to help us. They now do a black racing range.
He needs dimensions etc and some photos for both bobbins. I am away from my car for a fortnight so can anyone post the dimensions of the exhaust bobbins / bushes and also the rectifier ones please and I will follow up?.
Surely polyurethane ones will be better than the split black rubber ones and at least not look out of place if we have black ones.

I bought my new ones at Kunze, who deals in all things rubber, for £4,50 each. 20 mm thick and 30 mm diameter. M8 bolts and 40 Shore stiffness.
I doubt it can be made much cheaper. Possibly better. Definitely better looking...

Poly bushes are already available, as mentioned before they are early Mini exhaust bobbin mounts. Most of the rubber parts for Minis is available in Poly. After having 5 of the rubber ones shear off over 2,000 miles or so of driving (the most recent replaced at the Morgan factory, which lasted less than 150 miles), I thought I would give some poly ones a go. The ones I found are from "minisuperstore" on Ebay at £5.95 each and come in any colour, as long as it is blue. The rubber ones are about £1.50 each but need replacing about as frequently as you fill the tank, on my car at least. I will let you know if they last any longer than the rubber ones. I may even let Morgan know, for a small development fee.

This is the link but I have not tried the item yet so don't know how it will last. If you give me a month or so I will let you know if it is any better than the normal rubber mounts. There are three of these mounts required, plus a bit if black sleeve to tone them down a bit in my case. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CLASSIC-MINI-R...=item485815f4e8

The exhaust mounts look the same but I have not had a problem with them. The installation for them is correct, in compression. The Voltage Regulator ones are in shear with plenty of vibrations and they don't seem to like it! Its not the end of the world if they fall apart as they can be wired together for a temp repair that seems to last longer than the new mounts. All the bike installations are bolted directly to the frame with no rubber so maybe that will be the next move if the poly mounts don't work.

Take a look at www.mcmastercarr.com. That have high temp silicone vibration mounts of various weight bearing capacity. Along with every part you can imagine.
