12 European trips in my Aeros (3 of them) not once was I let down or did I experience any such problems. 11000 miles to Nordkapp and back in a SS and a plus 8, with rain soaking the cabins, no such issues. I'm sure it may have happened but it's far from Typical!

The question could be: Which one wins the competition of bad build quality: Aero, or three-wheeler?

Reading the Aero forum indicates a long list of issues, but the three-wheeler forum might trump it...

In relative terms, Aero owners might consider themselves lucky smile

Still cannot figure out how people can put up with this in the 21 st century of motoring, but this is probably why I sold my Aero a year ago.

Well, I think that by the very nature of the M3W, people might be able to deal with the faults and flaws as they come. The Aero, perhaps not so much. I also think the Aeros to a certain degree attract another type of person, perhaps people expecting porsche build quality.
On the other hand, G might just be a grumpy b....., lol.

That is, if they are prepared to fix the faults and flaws that are typical of the products of the company. And why should they even expect them in 21 st century motoring?

Just imagine a handmade dishwasher made with a German (e.g. Siemens) water pump that would be as unreliable as a Morgan. Yes, it could also be designed to convince owners that they have bought a piece of art. smile

True, it's the same with Apple computers (I'm no more a Mac user after more than two decades of the stuff).

However, I consider the M3W to be simple enough for me to fix (most things), simple enough to make changes to, that I will change many things, even if they worked as they ought to.

What I do find, let's say, "interesting", is that they apparently lifted the chassis, or at least the steering arms of the newer M3Ws, which according to people in the other thread(s) results in bump steer, or at least exacerbate it. I also don't get why they haven't figured out to use something else but natural rubber crappola for the rectifier, or, and this is equally as simple: To stop water being sprayed up from the rear wheel: Instead of cutting a hole at the very rear of the parcel shelf, cut the same area, but only on the sides, and instead of cutting this flap out, bend it down, so that water will hit that, and drop from there, or better yet, fit or at least offer a decent mud catcher/ mud guard for the rear.

It also annoys me that they changed the front suspension/steering rods, making it more prone to bump steer.

In other words, I do understand the frustration on the one hand. Some things annoy me, because they ought to have the resources to be able to think about it, or at least the resources to crowd-source the knowledge. On the other hand, I think of the M3W* as a sort of a project vehicle I can adapt to whatever I want. I have simple needs, and consider it a stable motorcycle where I don't have to stand on pegs.

*If I ever had the money for the new trad or for an Aero, I would most probably think differently. I'm not good with having smart looking cars. I like them a little bit rough looking.

I don't dispute the grumpy b..... epithet for a minute and I'm also perfectly happy to accept the points that Boshly and I have debated here over a large number of posts but the fact still remains, when MMC built the Aero, they made a step change into their target market and that market expects a different level of reliability, finish, sophistication etc.
Looks-wise, concept-wise I think the Aero was and is a stunning car. In terms of QA and detail, to me it is flawed to such an extent that it just isn't what it sets out to be. That was- and is- a shame but it is the almost inevitable result of a small company not being able to do the development necessary. Hence the dreaded concept of " The Customer Development Car"!

well my four penneth worth- I have owned two now and both have had a few items of rectification needed. somestick

I guess you have to consider the limited budget Morgan had to design and homologate the car , the unusual nature of its design. So all in all when Porsche have more to spend on a rear light cluster than Morgan did to design the car then I think they did a remarkable job.

Yes I know we shouldnt be faced with rectifying issues against a tide of owners of other Marques that do not in general have these issues - it is hand-built after all ...

So for me I wouldnt want them to change a thing - I realise this as you sit listening to the crackle of the exhaust on overrun in relative comfort with a degree of confidence in the great handling

A bit more help from Morgan would be nice though

ps Morgan why is it going to take 2 months plus to a get a windscreen ?? confused2

Agree to a point where Morgan does not have the same budget as Porsche.

At the risks of getting the full wrath of the mods, I would say
some of (lacking) attention to details was appalling IMHO.

There is simply no excuses for missing the drain holes in each door, so water could not build up inside and short circuited the central/lock/window, and allow water spilled into the interior.
Worse still, windscreen washer came undone underneath dash, it caused even more havoc!!

Having said all that, it would not stop me buying another Morgan in future.

Just my half euro cent!
