Greetings everyone, just a quick introduction followed by a concern of mine. First off let me introduce myself, my name is James and I come to you from Albuquerque, New Mexico. My wife and I have a three wheeler on order through Colorado Morgan, to be built some time in September and hopefully delivered in early October by air freight ( I love that part). I am a long time Mercedes off road nut, owning a 2000 G500 and several Unimogs over the years, currently owning my pride and joy, a U1550 double cab. By the way, I love that you refer to Morgans as Mogs, to me a Mog will always be a large MB truck, quite the opposite of a tiny English sports car. Anyway, we decided on a matt green with the shark face livery and as excited as we are with the decision, yes my wife loves it too, I am a bit nervous about what I read about caring for and living with matt finished cars. Id love to hear from some of you living with Morgans matt paint and see what your experience has been like and if you have any tips. Thank you all very much, and we look forward being part of this community.

Hi James, good to hear from another would-be M3W owner, and welcome to the best 5 speed Morgan Three Wheeler resource in the world - bar none.
Whilst I don't have any comments on matt paint, someone will be along in a moment with that, you may be interested to know that not only are Morgans affectionately known as Mogs, but also the venerable little Morris Minor as well as members of the cat family. Then there is the Unimog or is that the truck that you are talking about?

Apparently they use Windowlene on Matt paint in the factory. I've got a bottle, but haven't tried it yet.
Are you ok with a Chammy leather to finish off after a wash?

I have had a few flat black Harleys, the finish is very easily marked and you can't polish it or it goes glossy. Best to just wash it with soapy water and let it dry. I believe that there are now some waxes available for matt paint but I have no experience of these.

Swissvax makes some products for matt paint (which also works for those 3M paint protector sheets). The range is called "opaque".
I haven't tried it, though, but from cursory reading of some detailing forums, it seems like it's good for cleaning and protecting matt paint.

A few years ago i had a 1942 Willys jeep with OD paint, i always sprayed it with a WD40 type oily spray and a soft cloth, then wiped most of it off. It did collect a bit of dust but it was a Jeep all be it a show quality restoration.

Thanks for the input folks, I take it Morgans matt is no different from any other, I just haven't seen one in person.
