Something like that, obviously shaped, and fitted between the "bonnet" and the "nose", and in polycarbonate. I'm guessing that even a narrow one, say 15-20cm, and maybe 3-5cm tall, would make quite a bit of a difference further back in the cockpit.

In the UK, it's quite simple. An aero-screen or deflector does not need wipers, if you can see the road past it without looking through it. If you have something at the front you do have look through to see where you are going, it's a windscreen and needs washers and wipers.

Thanks for clarifying that Martyn. I am sure you have been through all this with the original 3 wheelers before. I would say that the current "wind deflector" on the M3W (5 speed) is about as large as you could go legally, for hight at least.

Maybe we need smaller drivers?

The Brooklands aeroscreens and the replica Auster ones (and the originals) are adjustable for angle. So as they can lie flat, I'd think that even if normally one had to look though, they'd still not be regarded as a windscreen and need wipers in the UK.

Melvyn Rutter has sold, I think a new car, with Brooklands Aeros fitted and the normal deflectors removed. Looked quite nice from the photo I saw.
