Neilda,

I think that the Suffolk is well built dependant on who the people are who build them, and, as mine is a factory built car I can say, yes it is great.
It is not like a Morgan in asmuch as a well driven Moggie will out corner it every time by vertue of the cross ply Blockley racing tyres being about 1" across!
The drive is far more vintage in feel but the view down the bonnet is even better than a Morgan which I think is high praise as I love Morgans.
The only down side is,of course, the fuel consumption which at around 20/22 mpg is about half of what my last +4 gave me but then you can't have it all.
I expect if I ever got sensible and bought an Aero Super Sport, I would get about the same.
So, yes the Suffolk is a brilliant car and if you ever get the chance, go to the factory ( by appointment only ) to see them being made, it is very much like the Morgan factory but very much smaller, perhaps 12 cars a year and there is no carpentry shop!

Hi Reg - thanks for that..... I really do like the Sufflok, it's like a grown up Morgan. smile

Have you done any long runs in it? France etc?

Neilda,
The simple answer to your question is no, but only because I have only had it a couple of months and we have been doing all the shows as normal. At the JDC Concours, I won "Car of the Show" and now have to polish a big trophey as well as the car!!
We have just now returned from a 120 mile round trip to the Rare Breeds Show at Lavenham in Suffolk where the Jaguar owners wanted to put the Suffolk on the front of thier stand, I declined out of concern for my paintwork.
In fact, I had to go "walkabout" to escape the constant questions from interested people.
Whilst we were there we had a invite from the Naylor Club (replica MG TF )to go to France with them next summer and we also plan to do the 100 annerversary of WW1 next year with the Squeaky Wheel Club.

Should you ever find yourself coming to The Broads, PM me and you will be more that welcome to visit and have a look at the beast, I might even go as far as a bottle or two of falling down water!!

Neilda,

Re. the drive, I know the feeling. Having been down to Canterbury for the MOG, we then went on down to the S.Coast to visit the haunts of my youth, even relived the Mods & Rockers in Brighton ( without the violence! )
The drive back was horrible especially that modern haunt of Dick Turpin known as The Dartford Tunnel. It took ages just to get to pay my £2.00 I remember when it was 2/6d and you could take your bike through on a bus!!!

I only venture into that park of the UK now if I am going to Dover to escape.

Not familiar with Suffolk Jag, but came across an advert in a classic car mag so had a look.

They have a fab looking C Type for sale - think they are about Plus 8 money (but not sure).
