As a special birthday treat to myself in November, I've hired a Morgan for the day (not sure what type, yet). Obviously I want to get the most out of the day and, as I don't know the area, has anybody got any ideas of a tour route ? I'll be having a look round the factory on the next morning so it'll be a full day with the car from 9.30 till late afternoon.
Also, as I haven't even been in a Morgan before, any useful driving tips would be welcome.

As a Dutch Morgan driver I let all the instructions for your route to the British Morganists, who know the neighbourhood much better. I' ve been there twice, once with our Morgan and an other time with the family car. I know it' s beautiful around the Malvern Hills and the factory visit is very worthwile! Beware that you can be addicted to Morgan driving, but it's a nice addiction! Have fun!!

Not sure if it available anywhere but the Elgar Scenic route is signposted and was good. There was a route designed for the Centenary not sure if anyone has it (seems it would be good for the factory to hand out) bit do find a way around the top of the Malvern Hill it is very Morganesque!

I fear it may be the most expensive birthday present you will have bought yourself!! drive

MogMag had an article on this maybe Claire car help. Otherwise pm me your e mail & I'll send you a pdf.

I would suggest you join MSCC and go to a Noggin or an event like
shelsey Walsh, there is an events forum here. Most of our cars have TM stickers & we would happy to discuss how good they are (97 two one +4's being of course the best).

As Keith says it will cost you & we will all tell you your car will find you!
Enjoy the day , then buy one & start grinning.

If you don't desire a Morgan after the day is finished I for one would be amazed. To say the trad. moggie is great is a very big understatement. Enjoy, you are in for one of the best days in your driving life!

Go out west of Malvern towards the Welsh border...some lovely countryside out there and ideal roads for Morgans. As long as you realise that the longer you are out in the car, the more you will want one!

Last year I visited the factory with my father. We also drove the Elgar route. It was a very nice scenic tour and ideal for the Morgan. The Malvern visitor center provide maps for this route.

Keep mogging,

Christian

I wish I'd taken prior advice when I hired a car last year. I tried to cram too much in. This was compounded by using a handheld sat nav which was still on GMT and the actual time was an hour ahead of what I thought it was. We ended up having to dash back up the motorway to get back in time, a nightmare!
