Honestly, Matt finish is loads more work than its worth in my opinion. You have to be OCD about cleaning procedures and take gobs of time to clean each time. If you enjoy cleaning your car, then by all means, have at it. Otherwise, I might just consider a respray or get vinyl put on it.

Did you read the links I posted? It's not much work, just different than a glossy one.

@AQM - yea, I saw your links. Ive never owned a matte finish car, but on a autopia, I would always hear about the extra time and care which was needed on a matte car compared to other paints. One thing is for sure, the guys on there swear up and down the street on the matte products that Swissvax makes. Ive never used any of their products, but worth looking into.

I read something about matte paint on autopia too. It seems that very few has experience with matte cars or expect that they can buff things out. And since they can't buff it out, it must be hard to maintain. At least that seems to be the thinking.

A valid argument is that you have to handwash it, as you can't run it through the car wash. But with something like the M3W, you'd be an idiot if you tried running it through one.

yea, I really would like to see someone running a M3W through a car wash. If they do, please take pictures.

I think the biggest concern is that Matte seems far less forgiving.

Less risk of swirls, though.
