Was washing the 3 wheeler for a show tomorrow when I found 2 of the rectifier mounds in bad shape, one completely in half. Guess I won't be driving out to the Battle of the Brits tomorrow...

I bolted my H-D rectifier directly to the frame without any rubber shock absorbers and it has performed flawlessly! This was after the Cycle Electric unit imploded for no apparent reason and left me stranded in the boondocks. The fact that I live in the boondocks should not set anyone off.
The thing is it works. Without cushions.
What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.
When i get my m3w i will do a mount/back plate to install the chrome h-d rectifier, but if the bushings keep on detiriating i will install it to the frame as well.Do the wires directly fit?
I made a new solid mount for my voltage regulator by simply turning it 90 degrees, so it's bottom is parallel to the road, and used no rubber mounts at all.
The mount bar is a piece of aluminum flat stock exactly 15" long, by 2" wide. I drilled 1/4" holes in the two rear corners that match the gusset tabs on the front of the frame that already have 1/4" holes. Simply place the 1/4" thick bar in the location, and scribe the two holes by tracing the existing frame gusset holes.
I then located 2 holes in the voltage regulator, and drilled 1/4" holes in the new mount bar.
There is no need to have rubber mounts on the regulator if it's attached to the frame, not not the motor. My original regulator physically shook its ground wire off the unit, as the heavy copper wire mechanically failed due to vibration.
I could see not reason to mount the replacement regulator on an engine that is designed to vibrate, with rubber mounts that cause the regulator to vibrate like a paint can mixer.
The solid mount allows the fins the run front to back, getting cooling as good as the prior location.
It looks better than stock, doesn't vibrate, stays cool, and works well. I'd attach a photo if I knew how.
