Hi all - this week I trade my lovely 3 wheeler in for a new Roadster. We have had a great 14 months together and taken in a few UK trips but each visit back to the dealer has taken me too close to the seductive lines of a classic. As much as I love the 3W she is a tough lady to live with - in many ways another motorcycle and I already have a few of them.
Any advice on the transition from 3 to 4 wheels?

Yes, being caught in the rain a couple of times was a factor in my decision to switch from 3 to 4 wheels...
What's the take on wet weather use of a trad Mog? Do they hold up well to getting wet or are we talking about a full clean and dry every time? Not sure if I will treat the Roadster as an 'all weather' motor or a sunny day only?

I think it depends on how fussy you are about the car. If its well waxed and the body seams have oil or something like ACF50 applied to them, the car is fine in wet weather.

Welcome to TM -- Mine is out in all weathers and it is perfectly happy! I do try and put the roof up if it is really raining (mostly just "soft days" here in Ireland!!) but I do find that if you just drive quicker, most of the wet goes over the top!! Cleaning just takes a wipe when wet if you have a good layer of polish on it. I do think it is important to have a good, dry and well-ventilated garage though.
Enjoy the new friend and just drive and try and wipe the silly grin off your face for the inevitable frequent photos!!

Robbie's dead right here, and a decent dehumidifier is a great help. With a properly protected car (wax on the paint, dynax s50 on the bottom, acf50 in the crevices) a Morgan is perfectly usable in wet weather, but you do need to be able to dry it out, especially if it gets wet inside. The latter point is one of the aspects where the trend in modern Morgans to touches of luxury like leather upholstery and carpets mitigates against their use in poor weather. The simple vinyl and rubber mats in mine just shrug off a bit of wet.

ACF50 on order - just read up on it, sounds good stuff. I'm assuming you are recommending a good coating underneath the vehicle Jay? I'll make sure she has a good layer of polish - garage is up to the job.
Nice to know that the trad will deliver a similar effect to the M3W - a pound for every photo taken would have paid for her. Was hoping that the Roadster would have similar effect.
