what I first thought was a oil leak that I could not locate turned to be a some time fuel leak.the fuel cross over hose under the DANGER HOT plate has compression clamps that are loose and will not tighten. sends a fine mist of fuel out and hits the windscreen.by the time you got out to check it it had stopped. only as it got worse was I able to locate it.Not a good idea to have a mist of fuel spray on a hot engine. I would suggest checking it and replacing hose clamps with a real hose clamp.might not be a problem with all engine but worth checking, easy fix before a problem [fire]
Thanks for the information about your fuel leak Indian Bob. I thought I would have a check around the injectors on my car so took the "Danger Hot" shield off for a better look. I found that although the crossover pipe connections are good the pipe and the injector cable had chafe damage from the shield edge, not much but my car has only done 2500 miles. So if anyone is checking for leaks around the injectors have a check for chafing near the edge of the heat shield. LH cyclinder only had signs on my car. See photos of damage and my solution to prevent further damage, some cable wrap and a tweak to the shield for extra clearance. A potential bad mix, fuel leak, broken electrical wires and a hot engine, worth a quick check.

Indeed, thank you, I've just checked mine and it seems to be OK, the cover is a few mm clear of the pipes. That's the problem with hand assembled cars, they are all slightly different.
I had a similar problem with the fuel. It started with smell of fuel after getting out of the garage. Yesterday I had the smell constantly and in the end a wet screen. Today I found out, that the socket of the injection nozzle was loose, so the sealing was not working. That would also explain the orange engine light coming on from time to time. Now everything seems fine.
Same issue with mine, driving yesterday and got smell and spray on windshield. Looked up under the shield and everything seems to be tight enough. Not sure i'm comfortable with fuel spray flying around.
Yup, same here. Chemical smell and very tiny drops on the left wind screen. They disappar quickly. Assumed it was gasoline. Have not located the leak, yet.
