I lived in Kirklevington before moving to Yarm and the Country Club (now built on I'm afraid) was a favourite haunt when I were't lad... got a bad feeling - now that you've put the idea in my head - that I'll be taking a longer route across the Penines. I recommend Stokesley to Helmsley B1257, then to Kirkbymoorside and Hutton le Hole, over the top via Blakey Ridge for the Red Lion, back via Commondale. Brilliant moors views in all weathers!
