Steve L and Harald. I'm with you two, I will walk a long way to not park anywhere near anyone else but why is it when you have found that quiet, remote far corner of the car park and left your pride and joy that you return to find some idiot parked so close that you have a job to open your door!!!!
In addition more than likely he ( or she ) has left the shopping trolley nearby so it can roll into some other carfully parked car.

Happened to me last week at Tesco Filling station - car just drove right into the back of me - " u just hit my car" I said ..." no I didnt" came back the reply - then on looking at the contact said "oh sorry - I was looking at the pump" - I ask u:(((

Fortunately no damage done - thanks to the Tow Bar ooo

Who knows? I blame those stupid convex side mirrors for some of these troubles. They are OK on the left side (for us Anglo, seated on the right drivers). On my Toyota HiLux 4x4 I stuck a flat mirror over the convex mirror on the drivers side and it is so much better for reversing with as you can now judge distance.

this morning I took the Aldermog to my friendly body shop, expecting the worst.

Alan Boxall, the owner took a look and said "I think that will rub/polish out,Morgan does put the paint on well"
20 minutes later it was done: no trace other than a small mark which might have been a pre-existing paint chip.

How much? Nothing....

If you need them, Elite Bodycraft, Wilton, Wilts. 01722 741 162.

Got home and applied a good layer of wax, polished it up and the damage has dissapeared...

That's great news Peter. Just have a good look around the headlamp nacelle though...if you or the body shop hasn't checked it. The filler has been know to crack if the wing has been hit. Happened on my 4/4 before I bought it...luckily I noticed it when picking the car up....and according to the factory that was caused by a simple nudge which had scuffed the paint but not bent the wing.

Just had a very good look....seems OK. The scuf was on the lower outer edge of the wing, so a reasonable distance from the light unit.
One downside to all this: I polished the front of the wing with Meguaurs Cleaner Wax. I'm now going to have to wash and polish the complete car before next weekend....it looks fantastic!

This reminds me of my friend Claude parking his new C5 in the furthest corner of a nearly empty car park here only to find a big dent in the passenger door when he returned to it and another friend who managed to reverse into the only other car in a wintry Sainsbury"s car park . She did leave her address and phone no. but never heard from the driver.
