Ever since seeing the Alex Roy test drive on YouTube, I knew I would buy a M3W someday.
I've spent the last few months watching every video I could find, reading posts on TM and trying to find an insurance company brave enough to insure it.
In my search, I've spoken to nearly every dealer in the U.S. and found that there are several 2012s and 2013s in stock that I can purchase today, but now that 2014 is just three months away, I'm wondering if there's an advantage to waiting just a few more months for the next model year?
I imagine that MMC may implement some suspension changes and might try to quiet the bevel box, but this is just speculation since there hasn't been any official word from the factory about these changes.
Are there any known improvements coming next year that are worth waiting for?

From what I know, Morgan doesnt work on model years. Changes - like when they stopped drilling M3W in the pedals or moved the gear stick forward - are more of an evolution, applied quietly and without any notice or marketing. Certainly not linked to the calendar year. You might wait until Jan 14 and find they change a whole load of things in Feb... I might be wrong of course...

That's interesting - I never realized that Morgan works this way. Definitely makes it difficult to shop by model year then. It sounds as though I could buy a 3W built one week and miss out on improvements implemented the following week. Thanks for this info.

Most of us have seen the enthusiastic video of his visit to Malvern but don't think Alex Roy is known in the UK - looked him up and he is a rally driver. Saw a youtube vid of his M3W in NYC so presume he liked it so much, he bought one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooH7FPLMrLM

The longer you wait, the more likely you are to benefit from improvements. But you can't wait forever...
My car will be here in a month, and I'm sure there will be some improvement announced a week after I take delivery, but I don't really care.

It will never be perfect. If you want perfect, you will wait forever. You will also miss out on some wonderful experiences.
Life is short, then you die. I have also found out that straddling fences while waiting for things to 'improve' is a good way to get a sore ass...
Just do it
What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

I agree - I definitely don't want to wait forever; I literally imagine myself driving my M3W all the time already, but am still concerned about how I'll feel if I pull the trigger and then find out that waiting a few more weeks or months would have improved my ownership experience. I'm planning a road trip soon for a test drive at a dealer with a 2012 and a 2013 in stock. The test drive will probably be the deciding factor for me.
