Had the latest ecu upgrade at the factory last week - it makes a big difference IMO the pinking has gone starting is faster and the engine is pull all the way thru the rev band:))) I recommend this to all m3 w owners

Obviously earlier cars are benefitting from the new map, but how about more recent cars? Does anyone know when the new map started to be installed on production cars? There is obviously no point in installing the same map as is already there.

fyi, was told by my dealer here in the states that there is no updated map for US three wheeler owners per morgan.

can any confirm or deny that who has a trike here in the US?

My car is June 2013 (No.0795) and also pinks noticeably under full load at high revs. I will ask my ever helpful dealer about when the new factory map was released - perhaps I need it too....?

I had the new engine map changed a couple of weeks ago at the first service car is Feb. 2013.
Pinking now gone, but I'm sure some of the performance has gone with it.
To get rid of the pinking they must have retarded the ignition under full load which has just taken the edge off the acceleration a bit.
Better that than a hole in a piston.

Or just made the mixture richer throughout the map which may explain the improved cold start too.

Mines still a pain to start when hot, sometimes a bit of throttle helps but it can take a few goes, otherwise great engine.

Heard the same from my dealer ...

Wondering what's going on as I have the same issues and engine as those across the pond.
