I am quite sure this is a RHD Aero 8 - it was the car shown at Goodwood Festival of Speed last year (07). It looks much better in the photographs than it did in the Supercar Paddock - at the time I believe we discussed that silver with 'grandad-grey-trousers' interior wasn't the most dynamic colour combination to 'wow' the Festival of Speed audience with.

The car was also quite tatty and not particularly clean when we visited it at the FOS.

Confirms what I have been thinking for years, Morgan have a great product but seem to fall over on their attention to detail. Perhaps they think that we don't notice. WRONG!!!!!!!

And these things in every other line of business affect sales.
The arrogant in other companies I've worked in have always affected the attitude that 'our customers ddon't mind' - or 'our customers understand that it's about more than that'.

My answer to that is - of course they don't - because the ones who do don't become customers!

Once you bring air resistance into the equation it won't add up.

I've run my Aero several times at bruntingthorpe on the 2 mile straight through professionalyl calibrated laser traps to assess top speed. The official top speed for the (s1) car is 160, but even in tip top fettle with a tailwind, the car would barely manage 150mph through the laser traps - and thats hitting the main straight (not sideways) at around 70-80mph around the bottom bend, not from a standstill.

Daft question but did you have the hood up or down? We know from the GT3 experience that the roof has a major aerodynamic influence?

Highest speed achieved roof up 149/150mph.
Roof down I think I it was low 140s.

Though that may have been me chickening out (no lid!).

I've noticed this too. I'm sure the speedo on my S1 over-reads by at least 10%. Has anybody else noticed this?

I think its normal for most cars to overread, but illegal to under read. When I was travelling at 80mph, the satnav reading was around 74.
Only the police vehicles have fully calibrated speedo.

Yes, my 4/4 does this too - when the speedo says 120Kph it is doing 110 according to the Garmin. Keeps one safe from the nasty cameras!!!!
