My comment that I opened up the drain and nothing came out was somewhat misleading . The moly lube used at the factory was so thick when cold, it didn't flow. I have subsequently filled and hot drained the BB 3 times with Moroso Climbing Lube ( which is red) and the hot fluid coming out is still black and somewhat gelatinous.

The Moroso product is for rear ends, and those all have bearings, so I'm not at all concerned. The noise reduction is 85% and as someone pointed out, you can find anything on the Internet. Complaints are easy, compliments and useful information is more rare.

I now have another M3W owner / friend using it, with same results.

My 2 cents

I have done 4200 miles in my car and the bevel box is incredibly quiet.

Unfortunately after my European trip in the summer there was oil over the outside of the bevel box, I thought from the breather so did my dealer until he investigated further and it is the front oil seal that is leaking, and he has to change the entire bevel box which is some what disappointing. He says there are no service instructions for the bevel box and is awaiting a replacement from the factory.

Why don't you remove the bevel box & try to replace the seal from other companies. If you find the bbox pretty quiet.instead of just replacing it on warrenty and who knows what the new bbox will sound like.

If you drop the prop off the front of the BB then remove the flange you should be able to remove the oil seal from the front cover without disturbing anything else. Then try motor factors or t'internet for a replacement. I doubt it will be a bespoke oil seal.

Probably the best thing to do is to send a a copy of the exact details of the oil (Name, grade etc and possibly a link to the Motul page that lists that exact oil) to Morgan and ask what they think.

Q8, can I advise waiting until you take delivery of your fantastic car, just in case you have one of the quiet boxes? My first one was absolutely fine, they do come around every now and again. If it is noisy, it may quieten down without special oil, and anyway, you shouldn't change the oil for at least 1000 miles, to allow the gears to bed in.

If your car hasn't shipped yet why not contact the factory and ask them to put a bottle of suitable oil in with it to cover the first oil change?
