 Thanks for the info and pictures, this will take some reseach.  Toying with the idea of a different shifter/linkage. No complaints, just an idea ...  Tally Ho !

Great set of pics RINGA = enjoyed all those - and it looks as if everyone there enjoyed the "Hoon" (good word that!!)  Having driven cars with both types of Gear Lever position IHMO the "forward" position wins hands down!

I have to agree. The forward position is a much more natural place for the hand to drop to, it also makes using the handbrake easier, for those urban crawls, [or handbrake turns of course]. The fact that the passenger no longer gets elbowed in the ribs is a happy coincidence.

I have only driven our new forward position but I can't imagine it could be any better. Falls right to hand.

I have the older model with the stick back I have room for a small basket to hold extra glasses, ear plugs, whatever. very conveint.
