Having driven cars with both types of Gear Lever position IHMO the "forward" position wins hands down! scared

I have to agree. The forward position is a much more natural place for the hand to drop to, it also makes using the handbrake easier, for those urban crawls, [or handbrake turns of course]. The fact that the passenger no longer gets elbowed in the ribs is a happy coincidence.

I have the older model with the stick back I have room for a small basket to hold extra glasses, ear plugs, whatever. very conveint.
