The standard 15x 5" wheel fitted with 165/80/15 Continental Contact 1 tyre. Just weighed it to keep Peter happy 15 x 5" painted steel wire wheel plus 165/80/15 tyre = 17.3kg Continental Contact 1 165/80/15 tyre = 6.9 kg Roadster standard alloy wheel 15 x 6 1/2" plus 205/60/15 Avon ZV5 tyre = 17.3kg Someone earlier mentioned the splined alloys by Minilite. I was thinking of fitting these to my 4/4 at one stage until I picked up one and realised just how heavy they are with the bolt in splines! A shame that Minilite won't make a non bolt in spline wheel like the one fitted to the Plus4SS available to the public. PM me Graham if the wheel and/or tyres are of interest.

Jay The Plus4SS Minilite wheels are bolt in splines. they are no kind of special edition, no non bolt in spline. Weight is more than 10 Kg including spline. I would be happy if you were right.

You could go old school and get have 2 spares on the rear one on top of the other, just incase you take Q for a quick trial in the woods.

The glass fiber resin 15x6" wheels of the Citroen SM weighed only 4.66 kg. Next year Audi A8 comes with new composite rims, so perhaps light wheels come to Morgan in a couple of decades. Harald

Yes, I think I'll leave the woods to others - or the Land Rover Have ought about swapping the transfer box over to Q raising her up on the springs, fit an engine protector tray, and your set for the rally in the woods.

Definitely not! The easisest route would be to fit a Morgan body onto a mid length (i.e. non standard) LR chassis - been done with TR7 and lots of others... I'll keep 'Q' as things are (apart from a number of little detail items) thank you!!
