I would be talking 996 GT3 - a car I like very much on the circuit, with Parr suspension on it. But not a road car for me - and I find the Turbo a bit soft, despite being a fabulous car. Also, the 911 is just a bit common - I would prefer something a bit less normal; where I live they appear more common than the Ford Focus (South London)!
Haven't driven the 997 GT3 - having a go in one in June, and looking forward to it immensely...
Still want an Aero, but pretty irritated by the delay on this one meaning that taking it to Monaco could be a problem!

I used to own a Ferrari dealership so I know....I've seen many a grown man break down and cry...... Seriously
I hope Boshly wasn't one of them   Loved my Ferrari (348GTS) was fun reliable and cheap to run relatively speaking, but then they're not ALL bad news, I guess there's just more chance of having problems. Was a bit hairy on the limit though ... Completely different to my 996 which handled safely/nicely but was soooo boring. BtG

BtG I couldn't agree more BtG, I had a 996 and it was the proverbial 'white goods' - efficient but no thrills.  I have never had a Ferrari, but our Masser is now ready to be picked up on Friday so this is our first taste of Italian stallions.  It does not need it's first service until 12,000miles or 24-months, and the warranty is for 36-months, so with a bit of luck ownership should be a pleasurable experience.

Why Bacon Sanwich?  And yeah...where is said man? 997 turbo ownership I'm sure must be cool. I do like a decent Porsche over most cars. The only car I know that can be driven as hard as you like day in day out and still come back for more.

I think they ahve moved on again from when I had the pleasure. I loved mine and would ahve another in a heartbeat. My bank manager would stop me though. In depreciation and running costs (not inc petrol at 15mpg) mine cost me nearly 30k in 2 years and 20k miles... Itallian ownership is engaging, but sometimes financially draining. The aero on the other hand costs a pittance to run, goes faster, looks cooler handles better and has way more class. Plus I can put the roof down.

I do like a decent Porsche over most cars. The only car I know that can be driven as hard as you like day in day out and still come back for more. I really don't disagree Viper, but some of them (& especially the 996 which was my first new Porsche purchase) are the equivalent of motoring porridge imho.  Having said that I should shortly be in the market for a '73 2.7 RS so if you know of any good ones going, through your motoring connections, please PM me. Thanks.
