Had a meeting with the portuguese dealer today. He is a great person and a gentleman too so I asked him to use the trip to Malvern for the meeting that'll happen next 25th/26th to get me a few litle things I need for my +4 (I like to keep a set of spare small parts with me).

Also, regarding my M3W order, I know he already contacted Mark Ledington to say that I want to pay a visit early next year to finalize my order, and that I specifically want my M3W next August, the month when I plan to pick it up and bring it by road to Portugal, as I did with the +4. If all goes according to plan, I'll enter the September '14 hillclimb with it already.

However ... If it's true all is set and ready, paycheck remains unsigned and my order is still on hold. I'm waiting for the result of the dealers meeting and both the portuguese dealer and by now Mark Ledington know that either I get clear news on the known M3W issues or it's a no-buy from me. So far, news are encouraging though smile

Sure. Bump steer and bevel box issues.

What do you think the solution for the bevel box is?
A easy fix or do you want a new system or another company to please you?

Oh I'm neither engineer nor mechanic, so I wouldn't know. And I don't plan to find a fix elsewhere, I don't think I should grant Morgan Motor Company the ability to sell me something that doesn't work properly or that breaks easily. I read here horror stories of fellow Morganeers that had the 3W's bevel box fail after a couple of days and I definitely don't want that happening to me.

Keep in mind I wouldn't be a Morgan owner if I wasn't prepared to put up with the oddities of the Morgan cars (if I was I would've made a U-turn as soon as I left the factory with the Plus4 and "met" a proper storm at the M5(?) that had me and the mrs. soaked barely 1 hour after leaving the factory! LOL it's still a funny memory!

Back to seriousness, I take pride in the dynamic and mechanic excellence of my Plus4, I take pleasure in driving it to the best of my ability. And I just LOVE to use it to beat 1970's and 1980's Porsches or Ferraris with double the power, and 1970's and 1980's Alfa Romeos supposedly "state of the art" nimble&fast cars while doing hillclimbs.

But most of all I TRUST my car. And I'm not prepared to buy a car I won't trust, keeping in mind I plan to race it too.

So, it's up to Morgan Motors Company. I'm buying a car with no roof, no air conditioner, no nothing but pleasure to offer. I'm more than willing to pay for that, but they must deliver.

Fair enough on the bevel box, it does get a lot of comments. From the amount of posts on TM it would appear that only a few have actually failed the rest have been changed for excessive noise or an oil leak. Mine included on both counts.

As for bump steer have you driven one yet, a lot of people find it ok, a lot don't. It's similar to trad suspension versus modified suspension.

Yes it could / should be better but some like it the way it is. Personally once I've made up my mind which version I'll be changing mine, but if I had a trad I'd change that as well. surrender

I too was a bit concerned about the bevel box and on my first test drive it was pretty loud. However the dealer (Bell & Colvill) said it was being addressed the following week.

When I had my second test drive it was fixed so I went ahead and ordered.

Delivery is now before the end of Nov so it'll be interesting to hear what mine's like waiting

Are we getting anywhere near having a register yet?

I am happy to assist in making a basic spreadsheet.

I suppose we just need:

Build Number, colour, trim, location.

2022 Plus Four, 2023 Super Three, Range Rover Vogue SDV8 and Triking T3.
