I thought about a cushion too, but even though I am only 5'7", I didn't want to sit any higher, as at present I can either duck just below the screen or look to the right to look over it. I might experiment with a Brooklands screen sometime, if I can find out how to remove the existing Plexiglass jobbie, without damaging it.

I am amazed that a £35,000 car doesn't have such adaptability. To resort to aftermarket fettling or having to endure pain & discomfort cannot be good for customer relations, surely?

There is scope for losing about an inch of foam from the bottom six inches of seat back foam, which would allow a little more bum wiggle room, and a foot pedal extension box on the side would allow for foot space maybe.

Or go for top hinged pedals, but that's serious modifications for such an expensive item.

I zig zag between being cross and disappointed with such a design, and being excited to experiment, which an a kit car at a third the price I could stomach. But on a M3W..? Hmmm..

I would think twice before fitting Brooklands screens. From experience, if it rains the water runs up the bonnet and straight onto your lap. I know the fitted screens are not the best but they do divert some of the rain, wind, stones etc. I had Brooklands screens on a JZR kit I built and they didn't do much of a job of protecting you from the wind, rain or anything much, they look good though.

For information, my pedal box is positioned with the rear bolts in the 4th set of holes forward. I think this may be a dealer modification as most I have seen only have 3 positions not 4 but I asked for the pedals as far forward as possible. The brake master cyclinder is only about 5mm off the front footwell face, so that is about as far as it goes. I have the front of the seat raised 40mm and it's all fairly comfortable. I am 5'11" tall with a 32" leg.

As for the M3W being a very expensive kit car 897, well I think that is what we have. In "standard" trim it is never going to be even close to perfect. It looks great and sounds wonderful but it should have been so much better from an engineering point. With a little effort (and more money) most of the problems can be sorted but at £30,000+ that is not what you want really.

We have an early one (April 12) and are both tall and we both have long (36" inseam) legs...with the furthest setting of the pedal box it was just OK for us but nowhere to put left foot.

Putting a 50mm spacer between the steering wheel and the quick release (effectively a dished wheel) gives us enough leg room to drive comfortably for as long as a tank of fuel lasts....

Our son is bigger still and he cannot fit to drive...but at least that stops arguments about putting him on the insurance!

I am looking to buy an used Morgan 3-wheeler.

Is there a difference in legroom between the "early" (2012/2014) m3w and the 2014/2015 models?

If there is a difference, is it structurally? Or is it just one more set of drilled holes to move the pedal cluster more forward?

Is there a difference in LHD or RHD with regard to leg room? Or are both identical?

I have just asked Morganmatt more information about his custom designed mechanism that allows for changing the orientation of the master cylinder.

I am 6'6, so most probably I need such mechanism also.

My dealer told me that my car built July 2013 had more room than the earlier cars but I don't know what the difference is.

I believe that the newer models pedal box can be moved one position further away, and another trick that I have seen done to increase comfort for taller people is add a riser to the front side of the bottom of the seat cushion.

Left and right side are the same as far as room goes.

I'm 6'-2" tall with an inside length of about 32" so my jeans say, and I fit ok. Not perfect, but ok.

The early cars had a three hole pedal mounting plate attached to the chassis, which changed to a four hole with the 2014 model onwards.

There was also a tiny amount of foot width extension with this mod, but even I can't straighten by leg.

I've tilted the seat squab up at the front by about two inches, which stops me submarining down the footwell, but I haven't yet found the need to put a spacer between the wheel and boss. This last part just gives bent knee room.

I test drove one in 2012/3 at 6'02" 15 stone and 33" leg I found no legroom problems BUT size 12 feet were a problem !
