I thought I'd post my comments on the newest UK Dealer and my thoughts about their service.
1st of all, Russell Paterson, ex Morgan racer and trophy winner is a real gent, honest, straightforward and has an eye on cost versus benefit. The latter quality being most important to me. I've only met him once but trust him. He keeps in touch with the work and it's progress regularly.
My 87 Plus 8 needs a service (never done by a Morgan delaer in 20 years!), kingpin replacement due to seisure, a new exhaust (but not manifold), brake work, leather trimming and much brightwork replacement.
He's organising it all, including sub contractors for spraying the car, the leather work and to have the radiator repaired rather than replaced.
All in all, I'm very happy. I'll report back when the work is done.
PS - They have a Morgan factory trained technician on site. SO that is a huge benefit.

Looking forward to hearing about it - it's always good to have recommendations.

Why have you not tried the long established and reliable Thomson & Potter - even nearer Aberdeen than the new boy.

I'd heard mixed reports about Thomson and Potter. So, anyway, always being a fan of the underdog / new guy, I went along to meet Russell. He's a nice chap and critically, I trust him...
Perth is quite convenient as I pass by regularly.
PS - He's sold a bunch of cars and he only opened last Friday (although had soft opened before then).

I agree with the above positive comments about Russell and his team. I have a 4/4 restoration project with them at present and have found them very straightforward and most helpful.I am sure they will do well. Sometimes you can just tell with people.

I've seen yours. Cool... Were you at the party? - Russell mentioned you were coming along.

Update - car is getting MOT'd shortly (arranged by RPM) and awaiting their sub contractors paint shop and then leather trimmer.
Meantime, have fitted :-
1) A stainless exhaust 2) Power boost valve flapper (fuel) 3) Ignition amplifier 4) Vacuum Advance unit (ignition timing) 5) Performance HT leads (I think...)
After the paint, the new chrome parts go on.
Russell has kept me informed all along and we'll see the finished article in about 2 weeks!
Can't wait.
