I am very unsure about this advice as you technically are failing to display the tax disc, even if you are proving you did have one at the time you took a copy.

This is a regular "biker" topic.... I used a colour photocopy inside a waterproof holder attached to the back of the bike on the near side. Never ever had a problem and chatting to a Policeman running a "BikeSafe" course a few years ago his comment was "as long as you show it and our records show you have paid we are happy". The police bikes in Wiltshire use a self adhesive holder on the inside of the screen that destroys the disk if it is removed. This is it: Secure Tax Disk Holder

My original tax disc holder was bolted to the the Rectifier - but vibrated off!! My next door neighbour found it just up the road - so lucky!! So I bought a Cylindrical M/C one from the Motorcycle Dealer - and bolted it on using the nearside Mudguard stay bolt - its visible and works!!:)))

Thanks for that link, Peter- might try that next year, it's certainly cheap enough for the tank or windshield version. Gerry.

What about 'Pay & Display' car park tickets..? just write your reg number on the ticket and stick it to the inside of the screen. If you're really paranoid, take a picture with your mobile phone. I don't usually bother and I've never had a problem

Paranoid..? I'm sure all private parking area attendants are extremely well trained experts & always listen to common sense and reason..

I've bought a magnetic stick on tax disc holder from the RNLI. I was over in france at Le Touquet earlier in the year and it was a challenge to keep the ticket on the inside of the windscreen. Hence the magnetic holder. Just put the ticket in the holder and it won't blow away. http://www.rnlishop.org.uk/outdoors/motoring/info/magnetic-tax-disc-holder/513042.html
