And from October next year, you can throw away any tax disc holder you have.
No more tax discs
But I might display a 1930 replica as I drilled a panel to take the holder when I rebuilt the car.

Hmm....
my tax disk runs to the end of July.
Does that mean that:

1. I buy a 12 month disk from 1 August 14 but only have to display it until October, or...
2. Something else?

Not user they have thought this through.

I'll miss it. But it is rather pointless. Stil at least it means only "proper authorities" with access to the DVLA system can check. So that means anyone.....

Anyone can already check a vehicle's details:

https://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/app/enquiry?execution=e1s1

Cick on the "Vehicle Enquiry" tab on the left and you just need the reg no and make.

Or www.cartell.ie where you don't even need to know the make. I use both for tracking down whether old cars are still on the road.
