Anyway, thanks to both of you for the suggestions.

Or fit an Optimate connector and pretend it is a motorcycle, they all need to be charged when not used for more than a week...

Similar experience: I do use an optimate but when left 3 weeks it started perfectly.

I suspect the Roadster has a bigger battery than the M3W.

It sits beside the battery - unfortunately I forgot to take pics (a cardinal sin I know) but will try to take some next weekend.

You can download the instructions form their website:

http://www.batterybrain.co.uk/Type_I-IV_RV_instructions.pdf

It fits between the battery and the 2 positive leads and I used the little straight link to space it away from the terminal.

On reflection I'll probably rewire it with a new short battery lead so it can be strapped to the side of the battery.

I found that it needs the engine on wire connecting and I've run this to an existing relay socket in the fusebox. Again, I'll probably rewire this or add the optional vibration sensor instead.

The remote control simply connects/disconnects the battery so I can leave it in a garage without power for extended periods.

When reconnecting the immobiliser light flashes fast for about 10-15 seconds then reverts to the normal slow flash. Ignition on, wave the immobiliser over the key and it fires up as normal.

I would add to all of the great suggestions (couple of these may be slightly repeated from earlier posts) some sort of "dead pedal" , even if it is just a lip on the side to rest the edge of your clutch foot on for longer drives.

Possibly offer a couple of gauge cluster packages that include a better fuel gauge, rear tire pressure monitoring, temp, etc.

Maybe offer the standard long exhausts as is and another short pipe version that is a bit meatier.

I was over at the factory today and managed to get an albeit brief ride out in the 2014 model.

Before being accused of being a BSD all I'll say is that I can only compare it to my car, which has the very early set up.

My 3 wheeler when I'm driving it feels alive, its responsive and in many respects its classic car style feel is appropriate for the 3 wheeler. The 2014 model drives more like my Lexus, neutral, doesn't feel responsive and certainly doesn't have the 'classic car edge'.

That may suit some of you but as a BSD I wont be rushing off and retro fitting the kit.

If any of you get the opportunity I'd suggest you try before you buy as it might not suit everyone or indeed every car.

I now wait the be hanged smile
