Four new tyres fitted today - thanks for the prompt! New tyres scheduled on Friday to replace my barely worn 7 year old ones. I want to be able to hammer down the Mulsanne Straight this summer flat out and don't want to be worrying about my tyres!

It would seem the factory changed the spec of the wings, inner & outer after 2011. So my repairer is having difficulty sourcing the required panels as the factory no longer have them. This is crazy as the car is not yet 3 years old. I thought Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 said something about manufactures having to supply parts for at least ten years, but can't find the reference. Has anyone got any ideas or pointers to the legislation. Why do we all, well a lot of us, have so much trouble with the factory ? Bob:(

The inner wings were reshaped to accommodate the 3.7 V6 and as far as I know were fitted across the range. The outer front wings are cut to fit the inners and I don't recall seeing anything about changes. Have you asked the factory?

Dave not me but my repairer a well renowned Morgan racing outfit has & that seems to be the problem. Last time it took 9 months to get a gear to change the diff ratio. Granted that was a specialist part but wings should be off the shelf IMHO. Bob Never had these problems with my MGBGT. Mind you I didn't crash that.

Dave's correct, the inner wings which were redesigned for the 3.7 are common across the range. Whilst the wings need to be cut to fit also the design of the inner wings means the front bonnet catches are in a different position as well.

It would seem the factory changed the spec of the wings, inner & outer after 2011. So my repairer is having difficulty sourcing the required panels as the factory no longer have them. This is crazy as the car is not yet 3 years old. Our car was built in Feb/March 2012 and I am pretty sure it still has the older style inner wings. The Roadster inner wings started to be used across the range some time in mid or late 2012 I think. The inner wings are predominantly a sheet of flat metal with various holes cut in them, it should not be that hard to duplicate and I doubt very much that the design of the wings themselves has changed they just need to be cut to fit the car. I have seen reports that Morgan themselves have done this sort of repair work at the factory. If that is possible you may be better off getting the car to the factory.

I am told the latest front wings don't match the rear ones. Something to to with the curve and edging so if they use the new ones they will also have to change the rears. Anyway I guess if they factory know how to do it they should be able to tell the repairer. Thanks for info. Bob
