Has anyone fitted a dash camera to his Aero/any other Mog?

I'm looking at getting one for the Max: the smallest/most discreet and with the highest resolution! The windscreens of all past- and current Mogs are that much shorter height-wise than most cars; and an "average-sized" unit mounted side-by-side next to the internal mirror would definitely obstruct the driver's view!

Ideas, anyone?

A few on here seem to use GoPro and some recommend another model that is cheaper (similar otherwise) - I cannot now remember the model. I have looked at the GoPro but cannot really justify the cost of filming you shooting off in the distance smile

Oh, come on! I'm not quite that bad, am I? (Hehehehe!) laugh

But seriously, I'll be using that as a pictorial record of my outings (to re-live the day's events, playing back on my TV) but also for recording the appalling standard of driving here in WA...

I've encountered some near-misses on the road when I was driving my everyday ride; and believe me, they were hair-raising enough for me to serious considering getting an on-board camera for my more precious metal! shocked2

I have often mused about WA drivers, perhaps the amount of space in WA makes them think there is acres on the road?

If you really want to worry about driving standards have a look at some of the Russian dashcam videos on YouTube.

This one was recommended recently on a forum, but I have no experience of dash cams so far.

There is some truth there; but nevertheless, it covers me in the event of an insurance claim. I hope it never comes to that..

Yes I have; and that's plain ridiculous! Life [on the road] seems to be cheap in Russia!

WA drivers haven't yet sunk that far into the abyss but it's b****y awful when compared to European drivers...

I bought one from China. It took a while to arrive because of slow post but it cost very little. I got one with GPS tracking built in and you can get a program that integrates it with Google Maps.

This is a later version than the one I got but it is similar with a larger screen.

If you search aliexpress.com for dash cam or dash cam gps you find hundreds of different styles with or without gps.

This is the site for the software that works with it.

Of course you can also simply watch the video on you computer or TV
