I know, I know,
One has to listen to the music of the engine prior to... music listening
Well I would like to write that, like on my previous car (MGB 67), I really enjoy listening to some good music (this has to be another topic rofl ) from time to time, even though I truly like and appreciate the sound produced by the car and the winds.

So, as probably some of you may have already read, I was really annoyed when I first inspected my finalized 4 seater, to find that no rear speakers where fitted, as opposed to what was originally stated on the options list.

Which leads me to the following question: does anyone have rear speakers fitted on their beloved classic piece? If yes, can you please describe pros and cons and position of speakers. Pictures would be cherry on top.

Many thanks in advance for your help,

A radio/sound system of any description must be high on the ranking of "useless additions to a Morgan". Save your money!

My car came fitted with a radio. Not something I would have specced but it is rather nice to listen to when parked up.

Ease off lads!! Whatever way he likes to enjoy his Morgan is fine with me -- indeed sometimes I like to pootle down a country lane with Rachmaninoff blaring -- it's whatever floats your boat!!

We have a stereo system in the car and though we seldom listen to the radio I have a usb momory stick plugged in to it to play music. Top down at speeds of up to about 100 kph you can hear the music. Over that forget it.

You can hear the music in the background of nearly all the video clips I have loaded on YouTube.

I love the sound of the car too but music does not detract from this for one moment.

There is no need to criticise anyone who wants to listen to music while they drive, put the top up when it rains, turn on the aircon when it is hot (yes we do have aircon) or the heater when it is cold, etc.

To each their own smile

Well said Peter. I don't think anyone buys a Morgan to listen to music in but if you want to use your car other than to blast around country roads on sunny weekends then a radio is very useful to have. My factory fit is fine when stuck in traffic and enhances other runs when on my own, I've a remote control which makes the kit easier to use and a Jabra Bluetooth device which not only allows me to stream music from my phone but also receive calls

Can't answer the original question about rear speakers but don't think they should be too hard to fit.

Whatever floats your boat I say.

I think I can honestly say that I never listen to the radio or music whilst driving. My second Morgan did have a radio which I gave away the day I bought the car to a friend who had had his stolen from his MX5. I have friends who always listen to music as they drive as they find it relaxing: but it's a personal thing. I love driving the car and think anything which could distract me from that is something to avoid.
I have had the rear panels off and there is room for speakers so it shouldn't be difficult to do.

Still interested in getting feeback on rear speakers (proper placement etc.), for those who have them fitted on... and dare mention it Devil6
