As mentioned in the in car audio thread I have a sad HiFi disease that is incurable. I have a home system built about QUAD electrodtatic pannel speakers and a Linn LP12D turntable, plus big monoblock power amps and a seperate power amp.
So, who else here has this disease? How else has and plays "proper" music on LPs?
And before I'm branded a luddite I have a top end CD player and all my CDs have been ripped onto my i-pod. I relish new technology when it fils a gap. Ls are neither convenient nor portable.

Yes - nothing like the sound of black vinyl - although CDs are more convenient. Ruined my hearing listening to Sgt. Pepper on Koss headphones in the 70s!! Those were the days. Now it`s Bach, Handel & Mozart for choice with Greig for those contemplative moments.

Inherited some up market hifi kit from my son but its rarely used because the necessary volume level to listen to rock properly causes family dissent. For me the great bit of kit is earbuds

A few year ago I was in Whitby walking past the fish quay and my old mate was sitting on the wall eating his fish & chips . We stood chatting and I told him I had just purchased a Dean Martin CD . I expected him to walk away from me in disgust but he said " dont worry I have just bought an old Blue eyes one ". I often wonder how a shrink would way me up as my taste is wide I have a bit of everything but no jazz . Jnr informs me when she is over the outlaws her grand father sings in the shower he gets half way into a line never knows the rest and makes it up till he can remember a bit then its off again so she gets a right old load of rubbish from a voice that would frighten the devil .

Living in Huntingdonshire (home of QUAD) my house has been invaded by their equipment.
Currently playing vinyl via 2 1955 vintage Quad II valve amps via KEF speakers. By modern standards do not have that much output but they sound great. Just had to train the juveniles to wait for the valves to warm up before turning the volume to MAX!

This may be considered sacrilege to an audiophile but my iPod plays through a hybrid valve/transistor amp. More importantly it prefers '70s prog rock at very high volume, but this is only permitted when is out of the house... Richard

When I bought my first house I worked in a HiFi shop on saturdays in order to avoid spending money and got the bug. I sold lots and lots of high end English HiFi in addition to the better ranges of vendors.
I ended up with a chunky system at home.
LP12 - Ekos Troika Exposure XIV Pre Amp 3 Exposure Dual Regulated (monoblocks) IV Power Amps 2 Exposure 9 PSU for the Pre and Active Cross over Linn Isobarik DMS fully active Micromega T Drive and DAC
I was looking at moving the PreAmp to a Linn Majik DSM soon to allow me to integrate all the Sky/HDMI/Digital stuff in the very near future.
I tried the Sonos and sent it back. Okay for technology but the sound came out poorly with my back end and I had to send it back.
I do love the sound of ESL speakers, I nearly went with them instead of the Isobariks but the good lady would have combusted when she became aware of the placement requirements. There has never been a more transparent sounding device to my ears. Which generation/model do you have ?
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Given all of that a miss now. I'm a Sonos convert and have even for at least 6-7 years.

For convenience I tend to play everything on iTunes through an Airtunes base unit connected through a Cambridge Audio DAC to an Arcam amplifier and Rogers speakers. I do buy almost exclusively vinyl though as I prefer LPs as objects.
