Just ordered this http://www.moto-lita.co.uk/our-products/...26&WH_ID=42

Did I do right..? Legs are a little bit against the wheel in my car and the instrument view could be clearer so it seems to solve two problems I have. Anyone any experience of it?

Offset + 14": Sounds like the best possible combination ;-)
Don't fight it though, your instruments (gauges + watch...) will always be somewhat masked by the wheel, which is alright.

Cheers,

Had one for some years on a Morgan, some people are quick to point out problems until you point out to them that a very large majority of 'regular' cars have offset steering wheels that are also often not round ;-).

Yes, had one on my 4/4 (non-offset 14'')

The riveted ply rim is the best-looking option in my view, BUT I changed to a MotoLita Mk 9 Walnut rim because the elliptical profile of the solid wood rims (hold one, you'll see what I mean) is much less tiring on my hands than the skinnier flat-profile riveted ply rim.

Mind you, i regularly do a 2.5hr+ unbroken trip to/from Kent/Dorset on nice twisty roads If your pattern of driving is different (shorter trips, more breaks, wearing gloves etc) or if you have more natural 'padding' in your hands then you may not encounter the same hand fatigue

If you like the look of the riveted one but want the depth of the Mk9, have a chat with Henry at Williams. He's had a special wheel made up by Motolita with a deeper section rim.....its very comfortable. He'd no doubt get one made with an offset rim for you.

Ah, this might be the wheel mentioned during a chat on Sunday...

Borghi in Milan does a Moto-Lita which he has re-made with a thicker rim but is still riveted. I'm seriously thinking of getting him to do mine. To me the only downside of the Moto-Lita is that it is a bit thin.

Rather than the optically jarring offset wheel, I think a flat bottom would look nicer.

I'm hoping it won't be 'optically jarring' once I'm used to it!

Hoping my current wheel is 15" so there would also be a slight reduction in diameter; the one I have is also plain, I would like some scumpting and wanted the rivetted look.

It's a 14-21 day wait though due to a backlog apparently. Will let you all know how I get on, but always nice to have a change! I wear gloves always when driving so thin rim not a worry...

Had a very custom 13" Moto-Lita in my Marcos; thick rimmed, slightly ftalleen dbottom it was a joy to use... I wonder if it would fit...
