Not sure that's something that should be made public knowledge, dude..? Sorry, I don't follow. The fact it doesn't work, or the location? I don't think the very few individuals that would be conspiring to steal my M3W are smart enough to be checking with TM for technical details to aid in their heist.

There are not too many places to hide it on a car this size. Could the alarm unit be behind the dash maybe?

You seem to have answered your own question! It's one thing to consult your dealer as a customer, another to speak to the world about security. Once it's in the public domain, it's lost forever..

We'll excuse the hell out of me! If it's that big of a deal to you, my paranoid friend, then I hear by request any further details of my inquiry be PM'd to me, that is of course if anyone has an actual answer that could be acquired by thief's and used to steal all of our M3W's, or at least the few that have the immobilizers installed. The ones without immobilizers, well, your SOL anyway!

I have an advanced degree in procrastination & currently studying for my paranoia qualifications.
That's kind of you to discuss vehicle security issues behind closed messages, thank you.

The beast is finally in my garage after a fantastic 500 mile drive home through the Colorado Rockies and norther New Mexico. What a great car!
Anyway, my car was ordered with the immobilizer, and I noticed after I got home that the LED doesn't ever do anything. This got me to thinking I should test the system. Sure enough, the car starts right up when the security tag is nowhere near the car. Any ideas? From your description it sounds like either a mis-connection, or even (perish the thought) that it was missed off at build. Definitely one for your dealer to sort out, I would suggest. I envy you your drive through Colorado. My son spent time at CU Boulder, so I was lucky enough to spend some time there. . .loved it. Looking forward to seeing some photos in due course. Enjoy your new M3W.

It really doesn't matter where the receiver unit is, as there's few places to hide it and it will be found easily, given the time. But, you can't defeat a properly designed and fitted immobiliser by simply ripping it out (unlike a Tracker, whose existence and location really DOES have to be kept quiet), as it will have a mass of black wires running into it from the loom, none of them marked and all deliberately designed to confuse and make it all but impossible to hotwire without detailed knowledge of the specific install and unit operation.
The one that doesn't flash its LED does need fixing though...

I have had no response from my dealer concerning this issue of mine. Can anyone point me toward the appropriate person to contact at the factory for help? I don't know where the unit is, and no one here seems to know either, so there is no way for me to start trouble shooting the issue. Any help would be appreciated.

From memory when I had one fitted before its in two parts. A pick / proximity unit which will be under the steering wheel cowl. They'll be a larger unit wire into the loom somewhere. I'd guess under the dash in the 3 wheeler.
I've not looked for where this is but the ones I've seen are similar in size to an old style cassette case.
