thanks, it's funny because i've always thought red interiors were a bit insane and incredibly difficult to pull off and even when done well on a modern car you always question how long will it take before the novelty of it wears off.
fortunately i think with the morgan being such an ode to the past where color combo's like that were commonplace and done well and also the addition of the quilted treatment make it really a nice combo.
honestly I don't think i'd ever be able to pull it off on another car but i'm thrilled with how it turned out on the trike

I don't know too much about these newfangled M3Ws but on the middle-aged ones with 3-speed & reverse gearboxes, which were positioned exactly where the five-speeders have their bevel box, we were discouraged from covering them with sound-proofing material (usually bits of carpet or felt underlay in those days) due to it impeding the cooling air flow over the casing and thus causing overheating which had disastrous effects on the worm and worm-wheel.
Do the new bevel boxes get hot? If so, it might be worth ensuring they are given every chance to keep as cool as possible by keeping Dynamat a reasonable distance away and maintaining good air flow over the box.
So Blake...if I were to read between the lines of your excellent and informative post... Dynamating the car doesn't really exorcize the M3W rattles...it just gives the car a more solid feel.
Too bad, there are times when this car feels like a high quality prime cut of beef that was overcooked by the chef....
Following PeterG, TimG & Blake's inspiration, I've done mine.. Behind seats, floor panels, door panels behind the leather trim, inside transmission tunnel & underside of rear plastic tray. Also changed the fuel sender & added the mudguard whilst I had it to bits. Post driving report when it stops raining.
Agree it starts as a pain in the arse trying to get the templates right and yet as I was reinstalling the leather today I was jigsaw piecing offcuts together and lined the plywood panels on the back of the seats an the door liners. Quite addictive - hope it makes difference!
